During its CinemaCon presentation on Tuesday, the studio revealed that the Francis Lawrence-directed film will hit theaters on Sept. 12. ^[2]

The Long Walk is a sensitive and intelligent film about a time-travelling serial killer who talks with ghosts, set in the near-future. ^[3]

Since then, the project has been given a release date by Lionsgate, and will arrive on September 12, 2025. ^[4]

Our film is inspired by the true story of someone who was admitted into the mental health system, after a trauma. ^[5]

In a dystopian near-future, 100 teenage boys must embark on an annual competitive test known as "The Long Walk". ^[6]

It's based on a novel Stephen King wrote in 1979. It was in response to the Vietnam War. Our movie kind of takes place again in sort of like a timeless place. ^[7]

Cast member Judy Greer (the Halloween and Ant-Man franchises) has said that the film Lawrence has made out of King's story is beautiful and dark. ^[8]
